Protectors of the innocent? Transparent, nothing to hide?

Still just as racist as they ever were?

Are only human and make mistakes?

    Basically evil?

This latest incident has a huge online discussion going on.

infiltrated by the Bloods, Crips, M13, Al Quada; virtually a who's-who of Aryan Brotherhood assholes, misfits and racists. completely out of control, and getting paid huge dollars. like patrol dudes banking 6 figures, and that's not counting what does not make it to the evidence locker.

otherwise they're a swell group of civil servants :c

From what I've read, over the past twenty years, ever since the riots they have gone out of their way to improve and they have gotten better in some ways, but it's still a large police force, you'll always have some knuckleheads.

I think they are just as racist as ever. But with that being said they are policing a state where gang crime is an epidemic and sometimes you gotta stoop to the level of the people you fight in order to be able to fight them.

They deal with the most anti-social group of people in the US on a daily basis. I think they should all be given assault weapons to drive up and down the streets of South Central LA blasting away

QUESTION: Why does ANYONE need an assault weapon?
ANSWER: To clean out the streets of South Central

there's dudes at the sheriff's office makin' $200k a year pulling overtime on prison duty. plus everything else.

2 of theirs went down, and we spent $5M+ to kill the dude. meanwhile, 2 civilians go down pretty much every day, and nobody gives a fuck.

plus, there's an alarming number of incidents where they beat and/or kill homeless people who are not engaged in any crime

Rife with corruption and overpaid assholes.

I totally believe Dorner's story about those assholes taking pics on their cellphones of gruesome crime scenes with the most gruesome photo winning the pot.

    this wasn't that long ago....

The Rampart scandal refers to widespread corruption in the Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (or CRASH) anti-gang unit of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Rampart Division in the late 1990s. More than 70 police officers either assigned to or associated with the Rampart CRASH unit were implicated in some form of misconduct, making it one of the most widespread cases of documented police misconduct in United States history. The convicted offenses include unprovoked shootings, unprovoked beatings, planting of false evidence, framing of suspects, stealing and dealing narcotics, bank robbery, perjury, and the covering up of evidence of these activities.[SUP][1][/SUP]

The Rampart Scandal is notable in popular culture because at least three LAPD officers implicated in the scandal were found to be on the payroll of hip-hop mogul Marion "Suge" Knight of Death Row Records, a convicted felon with known ties to the Bloods street gang. Moreover, LAPD investigators alleged Rampart CRASH officers Nino Durden, Rafael Pérez and David Mack were involved in the 1997 drive-by murder of recording artist Notorious B.I.G..[SUP][2][/SUP]

    this case is on-going

Kelly Thomas (April 5, 1974 – July 10, 2011) was a homeless man diagnosed with schizophrenia who lived on the streets of Fullerton, California. He died five days after an altercation with members of the Fullerton Police Department on July 5, 2011. After paramedics treated the officers first for their minor injuries,[SUP][2][/SUP] Thomas was taken to St. Jude Medical Center before being transferred to the UC Irvine Medical Center, where he was comatose on arrival and not expected to recover. He never regained consciousness, and died on July 10, 2011.[SUP][3][/SUP]
Medical records show that bones in his face were broken and he choked on his own blood.[SUP][4][/SUP]
