Two boxes of spaghetti. :rolleye: if the power goes out chances are that the gas will go out to or be turned off for preventative purposes. If he a has gas stove and the gas is still on he won't know how to turn the pilot on which is electric. He is helpless and won't know that you can turn the gas burner on with a match. You are supposed to have ready to eat food that you don't need to cook such as canned goods and crackers or bread or fruit or vegetables.

iPad :rolleye: if his power goes out that means Wifi and other signals in the area will be out too. I doubt he has much stuff downloaded into the shitty iPad's memory to keep him entertained for more than 3 minutes.

So what's your point? That Howard's a fucking moron with opinions about things he doesn't understand? I think everyone here had known that for years.

That happened to me last July when that freak storm knocked out power for four+ days in DC. How do I turn the pilot on? The gas burners worked fine but I couldn't find a way to make the gas stove work.

Long as Beth is with Howard and not stranded with Nacho someplace, Howard can survive on Beth's specialty...

turn the knob and light it with a match or one of these.

Do you mean the burners or oven? I don't know what you are asking. You don't turn the pilot on. It's always lit. There is an electrical switch that clicks it on or you have to light it by hand if not from the outside. You only have to light the pilot if the flame goes out for some reason. And if it's not lit that means a small amount of gas is leaking out.

If it's the oven I don't know. I would look for the pilot light before the power goes out and then use a match from there with the temperature on low.

all of what you are saying is true.

however, so long as he has a working phone, he would dispatch his peons to go shopping for gourmet provisions.

he would call in a team of experts who are well versed in the knowledge and skills which common man must learn on his own.

I'm talking about the oven. The burners start just fine with a match. But when I turn the knob to use the oven, I don't hear or smell any gas coming out, so I can't light it the same way I do with the burners.

    found this online

Modern gas ovens have a safety feature which prevents the gas from coming on until the electric glow plug is hot enough to ignite the gas. As a result, you will not be able to light the stove without a source of AC electricity
