I just threw out a bag full of old (like there would be new :rolleye: ) tapes that I have had since I was a teen and in college school. It pained me to do it, but it had to be done. I have some on CD, but lots I still don't. Saw lots of stuff i haven't listened to in years, but I only have one tape player and it's covered with dust and i don't have room in my entertainment center for it. It's nice that we don't have to deal with wow and flutter these days.

I still have like 15 linear feet of vinyl I am keeping.

The wife keeps nagging me to get rid of that :nag:

I still have 3 racks of Dead bootlegs I am keeping too. The tape covers I sold at shows along with the ones I got in trade make it a work of folk art if you ask me.

I need to get rid of all my shit. I keep thinking I'll put everything on MP3 and get rid of vinyl, cassettes, and a metric fuck-ton of CDs. But it'd take forever. :dontknow:

It is great to no longer need the clutter.

Never thought I'd say this, but the same thing with books. I have a bunch and read a lot, but Mrs. Vyb is a friggin' speed-reader. Kindle has made life infinitely better.

You'll be sorry....trust me. I lost a shitload of rare books along with almost all my albums during a spell of unemployment several years ago.... I've read a few eBooks but it just ain't the same.... Books and albums can be works of art.

My bro had 8-track in his Cutlass. I remember something about needing the matchbook as a shim to make the tape work. :jj:
