Kind of funny, Sirius satellites are down?

Or that is what the call center's are telling me.... all legacy Sirius customers using a radio are having issues. Been down since this morning, might get fixed by tonight.

Is this true? This is the 1st thread about it? Does everyone else use a phone/online account?

Not like I am missing anything I want to listen to, but since my radio isn't activated, I can't listen to stuff I have recorded off of Siriius (I have a creaky Stiletto II) :sonobigcry:

there's another short thread about it. i called Siri and the techs weren't even aware at first that a message was being run at the call center alerting subscribers to the problem. my tech said hopefully 2 hours to fix, about 4 hours ago.

The funny thing is I own three Sirius radios and I wouldn't have known that it was down all day unless I just read this thread.

I got the 2-3 hour estimate when called originally at 10:30am EDT, was just supposed to affect specific older radios...

just got off the phone with advanced tech support and they said maybe tonight, he is the one that told me it was global to all Sirius radios

Mine went out this morning too. I got an "UPDATING SUBSCRIPTION.PRESS ANY BUTTON" on the screen. So I did and now all I get is the Channel Guide on 184. Tried to reactivate it online (waste of time) and it never sent the re-activation code. So I tried calling "Listener Service" (an even bigger waste of time) and I got Sanjay from Mumbai to tell me he would send the re-activation code within five minutes. Five minutes came and went, no update. Turned it off and went to work. I just got back and it's still out. If it's not resolved in the next 48 hours I'll probably just go ahead and cancel. Been meaning to but this may be the straw that broke the camels back.
Sirius customer service (If you can even call it that) really sucks. I MEAN IT REALLY SUCKS!!!

It's 16 or 17. Originally viacom said 26 because they were counting some channels twice. Once for HD and once for non HD but that isn't how directv works. There is a directv site that explains it all it's either directvpromise.com or direct promises.com

Viacom should go fuck themselves. Last night there were TWO banners eating up the screen, one with Viacom's bullshit and the other with DirecTV's bullshit. THIS SHOULD NOT BE YOUR CUSTOMERS' PROBLEM YOU FUCKING MEGACONGLOMERATE PRICKS!

It happens again, and again, and again, every time these bastards fight. (Sports and entertainment providers versus satellite and cable.)

It may only apply to older units. I have an ancient Starmate with the great old FM transmitter. Never had a problem with it in almost six years.

It's an old Starmate 4. My even older Audiovox still works but isn't activated. I never had an issue with either of my radios, antennas, power supplies or boombox.

I always lean about 80% towards the provider, since they're trying to keep "my" cost down, but again, IT SHOULDN'T BE MY PROBLEM! Get the hell off my TV screen. Such an incredibly childish way to do business.

Imagine if you heard recorded propaganda about AT&T's backbone costs every time you picked up a Virgin Mobile cell phone, or whatever.

Imagine if you couldn't buy orange juice at the supermarket unless you listened to the cashier whine about how much Tropicana's delivery fees had risen.

Imagine all the people, living life in peace.

This is the first time I ever remember them actually doing it. Usually someone calls the others bluff at the literal 11th hour.
