Bob Dole should pull himself up by his own bootstraps, how dare he ask not only our government but the U.N. for aid. :grad:

They probably killed it because complying with the law would've cost businesses millions of dollars, like installing wheelchair ramps, signs for the blind, accessible bathrooms, etc.

I think we need to get back to Traditional American Values anyway.... If someone is crippled, let them sit on a streetcorner and beg.

edit: OOOOooooops! I forgot to add: But not in my part of town :D

If only we had more Bernie Sanders.

In an address at the National Press Club today, Sen. Bernie Sanders tore into John Boehner and his fellow House Republicans for suggested cutting disabled veterans’ benefits in order to reduce the deficit.

    John Boehner’s deficit reduction proposal
includes cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid with new tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans. Boehner also called for a switch to the chained CPI, which would reduce annual cost-of-living adjustments for Social Security recipients, and for disabled veterans.

Sanders called Boehner’s proposal morally and economically unacceptable, “It is morally and economically unacceptable that anyone in Congress would propose more tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires and large corporations while at the same time proposing significant cuts for disabled veterans,. This is not what the American people want and it is not what must happen.”

what was the logic of voting against it?
and in fairness, some republicans were for it.

I think that since it's not actually legislation that would change anything of cost anything, it had a dual purpose:

1-Send a message to the Entitlement Generation that we're not happy about them leeching off Our country, and given the chance, we're gonna change that...

2-Remind the rest of the world that We are special, and that We will never, ever, give up our Freedoms by associating ourselves with ANY global movements, because it would be Quasi-Communist, and an affront to God. (Tell 'em 'bout that One World Government thing and the mark of the Beast, Matthew!)
