I don't listen much at all anymore, but even I've caught the awkward moments when Robin's muttering to herself, distracting or interrupting Howard or just ruining the flow by seeming out of it. While I understand his absolute loyalty to her (really, would he let anyone else get away with this?), he went into this plan with selfish motivations: He stated that he cannot and will not do the show without her, so she couldn't die on him.
Maybe he's just postponing the inevitable if she's going to get worse and letting her continue to work because it lifts her spirit. Maybe he begged her to use the ISDN line and stay connected to the show out of fear of not having her there in some way. If she continues to deteriorate, he'll have to rethink everything, but he seems to be willing to drag it out until her last breath.
I read it all and completely agree. Did you pick up on Robin all but admitting her enormous weight gain by defending Christina Aguilera?

The news is the worst part of the show. The Howard News poll results usually rate it dead last as "what was your favorite part of today's show" (btw who the hell votes!?). Unless they can pull someone fresh and funny in for the news, ditch it. Sad thing is, I'm not sure I want more time listening to Howard whine and phony staff fights, so what replaces it? I'll be damned if I want a BethO fashion segment or pet discussion.
