What about Curtis from New Orleans ?Here's how to call in.
Here's how it works now, the show isn't about Riley Martin taking phone calls, now it's Riley and E-Ron doing whatever they can to avoid as much abuse as they can so they can collect their weekly check from Sirius. Riley and E-Ron rely on the Sirius money as their main source of income and an opportunity to sell his merchandise to supplement that income. They know they're poor and I guess they don't think they should have to degrade themselves to earn a living. Maybe they shouldn't be on Howard 101 if that's the case. But they're just getting away with their scam for as long as they can.
The call screeners in NYC ask your name, location, and what your question/comment for Riley is. The screener then punches that information into a computer so E-Ron can see it out in Washington, NJ where they do their show from. E-Ron eats up air time with questions from e-mailers, Twitter, and his own. E-Ron does everything he can to avoid phone calls that aren't from the following people:
Chris in Arizona
Scott in Wisconsin
Keith in Canada
Eric in New Jersey
Louis in Boston
Mark in San Diego
These guys call in usually once a week. E-Ron recognizes them and picks up their calls because he knows they won't be prank calls. I've called in as one of those guys recently and got a prank in but when I tried being the same person the next two weeks, E-ron didn't take either of our calls.
When they do take a risk and answer a call from a name they don't trust, E-Ron has his finger on the button ready to drop the call. If they're lucky enough to get through a new caller's first sentence without a prank or joke thrown in, E-Ron hangs up immediately so the caller, if potentially a prank caller, doesn't have the opportunity to drop a joke on them.
