The Dictator was awful, everyone was expecting him to do his live action skits, not some scripted movie.
I didn't know it was scripted when I first watched, so I sat through what I thought was the introduction to the movie for about 20 minutes, before I realized, it was scripted. I only finished the movie because Bruno, Borat, and Ali G are so fucking hilarious, I will sit through his one bad movie, just out of respect.
My sentiments exactly. I watched the Dictator out of respect to Cohen, who has made me laugh more than any comedian/humorist, aside from pre-2007 HS. I knew when I saw the trailer that it was going to be a harrible movie, and it was. In spades.
He's one of the greats, isn't he? Did you see him in Sexy Beast? Great movie, and he is such a versatile actor.
Ha! I was thinking of that movie yesterday....................
YES, ROUNDTREE!!! YES, GROVESNOR!!!
WARNING: Sexy Beast spoiler ahead!!!
Could you swim with his body under the pool like that? I think it would bug me out.
Ray Winstone is great. He should have done more with hisself. Check out a Brit show called "Vincent" if you haven't already.
greatest fun-fact I know about Ray Winstone: he turned down a starring role in "Homicide: Life on the Streets" or some shit like that, because it would have meant moving to America, and he didn't want his daughters to speak with an American accent.
lightning-bolt thought: Kingsley could have played Hannibal Lechter. I'd love to see that!
