Is my favorite non drama on TV. It follows Karl Pinkerton around on world travels which he basically hates.
Its plot is they are shooting a (fake) reality show. Karl is sent to different parts of the world and Karl is a simpleton who generally hates doing any activities. Karl is seen interacting with different cultures around the world, and often he talks to the cameraman and points out the most inane things about his travels, sometimes stumbling into different ways of seeing basic things in society at large. If you like deadpan humor. (Steven Colbert is almost certainly the most famous US deadpan(er) currently active), you will love this show.
The first series (read:season) Karl goes to the 7 wonders of the world,
the second is "Karls Bucket List",
and the third season he is teamed up with Warwick Davis (Willow) as they see world attractions. Warwick plays the "straight man" in the their comic routine (ive only watched the first ep of series 3).
The scenery is incredible, so are the camera angles, and obviously i think the writing is incredible.
I'll definitely have to check that out! Warwick Davis was tweeting about it the other day.
Warwick was GREAT on Life's Too Short, which ran on HBO awhile back. He's a pretty funny dude!
I wonder if HBO has any new Chris Lilly shows coming up? Dude is from Australia, and he's had some hilarious shows on HBO (Summer Heights High and Angry Boys).
