We remain hard at work trying to reach an agreement that will quickly return CBS channels to you.
We regret that CBS has put our customers in this position by continuing to withhold its channels. We are trying to strike a balance between our desire to restore the channels as soon as possible and our responsibility to all of our customers to hold down the rising cost of TV.
If we agreed to every outrageous demand made by every television network, cable TV bills would skyrocket. We know you think they’re high enough already. Every video provider is facing the same pressures from these rising costs and is at risk of blackouts, so switching is not a solution. We have to hold the line on TV prices. In fact, doing so has saved us—and you—hundreds of millions of dollars over the past few years.
In the meantime, we’re doing what we can to make this easier on you, including:
• Offering Starz Kids & Family premium channel on a temporary preview basis;
• Making the Tennis Channel available to you at no additional charge during the two weeks of the US Open beginning August 26*;
• Providing a movie-on-demand coupon to TV customers with digital equipment or Amazon.com gift card to other TV customers.
• Making basic indoor antennas available at no cost so you can watch their shows over-the-air (see details at TWCConversations.com/antenna).
Remember that CBS shows do remain available over the air for free via antenna. And, despite CBS’s decision to block our customers from cbs.com programming that is otherwise free to any internet user, you can still watch those shows using another ISP (like your mobile provider, for example), and you can find CBS shows online at sites like Amazon (which offers CBS shows for free to its Amazon Prime subscribers), iTunes, and Netflix.
Sports Fans: Despite the blackouts, most of the hometown team games will remain available to you. Visit TWCConversations/CBS for details.
Again, we appreciate your patience during these unfortunate blackouts, and thank you for being a Time Warner Cable customer.
