OSHA never shows up anywhere unless someone dies or is seriously injured....too much workload, underfunded
But the workers should have called if they were forced to work like that...bullshit
Or if someone reports an unsafe working condition. I that case, they will fax the written complaint and the business has 72 hours to respond. The written complaint must be posted at the specific area, signed by management. The company must then identify the hazard and reply to OSHA how they will fix it and the timetable. Failure to comply will get OSHA to show up.
JACKSON PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - KNOE 8 News has learned that one of two workers cleaning out a tank at the Rock-Tenn plant in Hodge did not make it out of the tank alive. A third contract employee, inspecting the work, was also injured.
Two of the three contract employees involved in Tuesday's accident worked for Deep South. The third worked for Pulp Mill Contractors.
According to Deep South Spokesperson Dewey Seymour, his two contractors were inside a tank in the mill cleaning it out. One of the Deep South workers came out of the tank with burns. That worker was taken to the hospital in Jackson Parish. Seymour says the second Deep South worker did not make it out and died in the tank.
An employee with Pulp Mill Contractors, was also sent to LSU Hospital and is in ICU with burn injuries. Pulp Mill Contractors Spokesperson Ronnie Marsh says the employee was inspecting the tank and fell into what is called "black liquor."
The names of the workers are not being released. Rock-Tenn has issued no statements regarding what happened at the mill.
When the Author walks onto the stage, the play is over.
Not on a diet; making lifestyle changes. I WILL have a stromboli soon, I got tha fever, but I'll just be good (and eat leftover salad) for another day or two. The chicken I grilled for it is really quite tasty....

They were on top of a 'black liquor' tank. Black liquor is a part of the kraft pulp cooking process. I don't know if part of the tank collapsed or if they somehow fell in. These tanks are enormous. Other than them somehow having a part of the top of the tank collapse, I don't see how THREE people could somehow access a manway and fall in.
Thanks for spoiling the last episode of Breaking Bad, asshole.
