My parents were dumb enough to buy me that SEGA CD thing.
It was a really underrated console, though, the cost was what killed it. Hardly anybody had one, and those that did never really embraced it enough to dig through all of those FMV/point and click games for the great stuff. Sonic CD and Lunar/Lunar Eternal Bluee alone make it a great console for me, and the RPG line up was staggering: Shining Force CD, Record of Lodoss War, and Shin Megami Taisen just to name a few. AND, if you had it combined with a 32X (which sold for like $10 when the Saturn hit), it actually had a better port of Virtua Fighter.
I don't know who Blarg is....
The Sega Master System was my first console when i was about 6 so it holds a special place in my heart i own Outrun 3-D which is a very rare item to find...
Got all the SEGA consoles except the SG-1000.
If only Sega had brought over Shenmue 2 for the DC in the U.S. You could play the UK version with a boot disc, though.
Hahaha the boot disc....i had the boot disc and ended up playing a bucket load of games my friend was copying at the time
Shenmue 2 never came to the U.S however i did buy it from ebay after hassling mom to get me a copy, the bad thing was the voice over was in Japanese but it did have english subtitles so it was ok to play.
Still got 1 and 2
This thread has inspired me to Ebay a DC and Shenmue 2
You really should, the system had new releases in Japan and Europe all the way up until 2008 (although it was left for dead by all the big publishers and even Sega itself, these were all 3rd party games). Most Americans gave up on it in 2001/2002, but there were still years of games that came out. Some are Japan exclusive (meaning no UK version with English as opposed to a game like Shenmue 2), but almost all of those are Arcade games that you don't need to know Japanese to play anyway.
To name a few:
Vampire Chronicles - Darkstalkers sequel, IMHO THE best fighter on the DC.
Headhunter - MGS like game.
Fighting Vipers 2 - Sequel to the Arcade/Saturn game, solid fighter.
Street Fighter 2X - Best version of Street Fighter 2 ever put on a console.
Some great light gun games (make sure you have a Jap light gun, they're cheap on ebay and can be used with an easy mod on a U.S. console):
Death Crimson OX
Death Crimson 2
Virtua Cop 2 (It's part of the Sega Smash Pack in the U.S.)
Import Only Shooter List (THERE ARE A TON)
Ikaruga - The best DC shooter.
Rez - Really cool shooter.
Trigger Heart Exelica - Great shooter.
Under Defeat - Great shooter.
Radiligy - ANOTHER great shooter.
Second tier shooters:
Border Down, Chaos Field, Zero Gunner 2
Even if you played EVERY U.S. game, those right there are enough to make it a new console. Keep in mind, a boot disc is freely downloadable and allows you to play "copies".

Also, just to clarify, you need the import versions of the shooters in order to use the Jap light gun. This is because the DC hit right after Columbine, and Sega bowed to political pressure to disable light guns on the console in the U.S. (there were third party ones that used a workaround, but they're awful). So Virtua Cop 2 was released in the U.S., but you have to play it with the controller which is pointless, just play the import version with the good gun. Also, there is a gameshark code that makes the import gun work on the U.S. games, but it's really buggy and not all games support it, it's not really worth your time.
