Costa Rica - gweat people, decent standard of living, water on east and west coasts, and all substances available on the east coast. I had a hard time with the monotonous 6AM-6PM twelve hour days, near the equator.
i'm thinking of moving way out of town, like thailand, mexico, ecuador...someplace cheaper than the U.S. in general.
laid back, lots of trees, no beheadings every other week, not too many thieves...oh, and the possibility of scoring a little pot once in awhile.
i've thought about moving somewhere else for years and i'm pretty sure i'm going somewhere in 6 months or so. the where is the question.
i want to leave the desert for someplace green with little or no snow and about 1/3rd cheaper than living in the U.S. . you know, paradise.
years ago, i was thinking lake chapala in mexico. then i thought, i love thailand so...
i researched thailand for a month and was pretty sure i was going way up north to chiang rai. then the negatives started piling up. horrible air quality, due to the rice burning season for 2 to 3 months a year (foreigners stay in a town for 10 months or so and then move south for 2 months), very slow internet, shitty tv options, dengue fever, getting busted with pot could be very expensive if not dangerous. but it's still in the running because it has some stunning scenery, lovely people, i speak enough of the language to get by, relatively cheap to live well.
i plan on living somewhere for a year or 3 and doing the tourist stuff gets old after awhile, so decent internet and tv options are pretty important.
where would you go if you had the option to pick up and leave?
Hmmm, I guess under these restrictions, I'd prolly pick Amsterdam or some other Western European country. There's a lot of stuff over there I'm not liking, such as extreme "gun control" and very invasive governments, and moozlim coddlin', but it's still closer to what I'm used to, and you can schmoke some weed and fuck some whoahz!!!!!!!
