I worked for Kevin awhile ago & I have to say he is probably one of the nicest guys - fuck Hollywood, I mean like in real life too..... outside of that - His podcasts are a billion times funnier & interesting then anything Howard has personally done in a decade! What cracks me up is when Howard acts like Kevin is a nobody... well the guy has 2+ million twitter followers at the time Howard did his rant on him when Howard only had 400,000.
He has been going thru the motions for the 2 or 3 years. He was on fumes when he re-signed. These last 2 weeks is like he was cramming guest in. He mentioned one time, he didn't like the show to be that hurried. Im no kreskin, but Im predicting Kid Rock will be in studio in a month or two. Seeing how the show is only on 3 days a week and he has vacation 35 weeks a year........
Well I haven't heard much of the recent shows but in reading about them here it seems like most of the sudden influx of guests was people Sirius had already arranged for for other channels and Howard just co-opted them "yeah just give us all of them". Booey didn't suddenly just start putting overtime in. He certainly had fuckall to do with getting Metallica in.
The weirdest part of that YouTube was Howard saying he had Kevin over his house for New Years because he thought there might be a friendship growing. But it was yet another Howard friendship failure. I don't think Howard has a single true friend who isn't on his payroll. Even Beth is an employee for his company.
And I would side with Howard on not booking Kevin if he didn't run into this same issue dozens of times in the past. And it's always the same excuse of "we were all booked" or "we just had him on" or "I know what's interesting for my audience" defense. And then he turns around and books the same tired guests over and over again.
Kevin confronting Howard about his issues would have been interesting. Just have him on for 10 minutes.......... or would that have cut into the hour long discussions of AGT too much?
