A former Indy car race driver and Naples resident was arrested on child pornography charges.
Jon Herb was arrested on 246 counts of possession of child pornographic materials.
Deputies met with Herb's wife at a North Naples substation. She told authorities when she went to use her husband's laptop, she found website pages depicting underage nude girls.
Herb's wife told deputies she went to the stored photo album and found images of her husband engaging in sexual acts with a child that looked to be four or five years old. She gave deputies the laptop and two video cameras that may have had additional images or videos.
Herb's wife then made a controlled call to her husband asking him to identify the girl in the photo. During the conversation Jon Herb identified the young girl.
Jon Herb was taken into custody as he pulled into his Naples home, where additional electronics were collected.
Florida's Department of Children and Families was contacted and three children were taken to the Children's Advocacy Center and interviewed.
A four-year-old girl told officials she had engaged in sexual act with Herb more than once.
A Lee County woman was also interviewed. She told deputies Herb and her started living together in Illinois in 2001 when she was pregnant with Herb's son. At the end of July 2013, Herb moved her and her three children to a Fort Myers home and paid the rent a year in advance.
According to the reports, the woman went on to say she did not know of the sexual battery, but was not surprised "because Jon is a pervert."
Those who live closest to Herb, at the Ritz Carlton Resort Community, cannot believe the allegations.
Collier County Sheriff's Office computer forensics specialists found 243 pictures of child pornography and three videos all containing the four year old girl.
Lee County deputies also have probable cause to arrest Herb for sexual battery of a child under the age of 12.
