What happened to all of those? Did he lose them to Alison in the divorce?

"Are laserdiscs better or worse than vinyl, Boff" ?

Ah think that videos look better on laser disc compared to DVD's, Boff. Ah am talking about a noine out of ten for laser discs, compared to a two out of ten for DVD's.

Wow. That player is old. Mine looked like a CD jukebox and the laser automatically flipped to the other side at the end of a disk. I think I paid about $800 for it in 1991. I forgot all about the thing and tried it out on my HDTV years ago. Playback was terrible compared to an upscale DVD. One feature that I really liked compared to DVD was the jog and shuttle feature. I could advance or review a frame at a time. It was fun slowing down special effects and fight scenes with the dial on the remote. Bly-Ray players don't even have this feature for some reason.

Still have mine. Works great when I hook it up to my HDTV.
Quality is better on certain titles than the DVD releases -Chinatown for instance looked better in the laser format until it was released in Blu-Ray.
Some titles on laser disc were never released on DVD uncut -like the Looney Tunes Golden Collection box-sets.
Two of my favorite pyschotronic titles that were never released on DVD:

Andy Kaufman's GOD TOLD ME TO (film by Larry Cohen ...Andy plays a cop who gets murdered by a psycho sniper played by Tony LoBianco) and the mondo-bizarro SONNY BOY with David Carradine as the transvestite matriarch in a seriously dysfunctional family of homicidal manaics:

Schindler's List wasn't available for a while on DVD but was on Laserdisc. Same with Star Wars. There was a really cool video store near where I worked that had everything imaginable on Laserdisc. It was cool to go browse through their collection. I rented from them every week. They had a large selection from the Criterion Collection. I always liked getting those. Friends would ask me why I liked watching movies with black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. I can't believe it took so long for widescreen TVs to come along.

The x-rated version of Robocop was only put out on laser for the longest time.
I think you can get it on Bluray now.

GOD TOLD ME TO was released on DVD back in 2003, while the Blu-ray for the film made its debut in February of this year. It's a shame no one has given SONNY BOY a proper release on DVD or Blu-ray.

Didn't know that about God Told Me To -it's only merit is that Andy Kaufman does what amounts to a cameo.
SONNY BOY is a scorcher! Criminal it hasn't been released.
