Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. have titled the upcoming “Blade Runner” sequel as “Blade Runner 2049.”

Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi, and Dave Bautista are starring. Denis Villeneuve (“Sicario”) is directing the film, which started shooting in July.

The movie will be released on Oct. 6, 2017, in North America. Sony Pictures Releasing International will distribute it overseas.

The sequel is set several decades after the 1982 original, with Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard. Plot details are being kept under wraps.

Harrison Ford is 74 years old.

Will they digitize him or explain that robots age to mimic humans and blend in?

Should I see it before not seeing this one?

It's about a guy who always has to run to the store for replacement razor cartridges. It ends with him joining dollar shave club. Shit I probably should have spoilered that last bit.

It's overrated, just don't go in expecting it to be some "greatest of all time" movie. It's just a good movie with good action. I wouldve enjoyed it more if people didn't hype it up.

From what I understand, Ridley Scott can't direct the film due to a previous commitment. He will be one of several producers. Harrison Ford will not be the main character, but have more of a supporting role to Ryan Gosling. I don't have high hopes for this sequel.

My opinion of it has varied over the years, but I would still have it somewhere on the "Must See" list. Get the Director's Cut, the theatrical release had a lot of compromises that hurt Scott's original vision.
