it's great that we, as a country, can take care of our less fortunate humans.

70% of the beneficiaries are children, seniors, and people living with life altering disabilities...most have paid into the system via social security and/or have served our country in the military

If you think it is a free ride and so great, go and trade places with one of them.

You do realize SSDI is an Insurance right? Everyone pays in, not everyone collects. Max benefit is 24xx.00 a mth and you had to have had a decent job with zero interruptions in your work history to even get that amount. If you did as you were told by HR and signed up for LTDI from another plan, guess who deducts that ssdi amount from their obligation to you once it kicks in, including all back payments and children payments. How in hell they are entitled to do that is unbelievable. Real thieves in the SSDI files are the long term disability companies, not people who were driving home and were hit head on by an asshole.

My daughter is one of these lazy recipients of a government handout. Her disability, which prevents her from being able to speak, write, read, dress herself, toilet herself, cook for herself, change tv channels for herself, got her onto the gravy train when she was 18 years old, and now she's 28, so that's ten years of the easy life for her. Thanks, suckas!

I have an employee with a "bad back" who has been on disability for four months now. I've literally been paying her COBRA and giving her living expense money. I'm in for $4,000 so far, and I'm out of patience. She collects disability insurance through work.

She isn't doing a goddamn thing to "fix her back" and we need her at work where she will earn $45K per year

Some people are just fucking lazy, and there is no fixing it.

I suspect the largest spike came when people like Ass Napkin Ed and Big Foot learned all they had to say was that they 'hear voices'. Presto. Instant disability for schizophrenia.

a lot of these clowns do this when their unemployment insurance runs out (thanks, Obama!). how do these otherwise healthy people convince a doctor, who should know better, to declare them disabled?

Not if you feel a twinge in your back which can only be cured by daytime television.

I am hiring a part-time employee next week who will receive roughly $25 per hour to work 25 hours per week. She'll book over $32K per year, and only need to work M-W-F. Shoot, maybe I need to take that job.
