if you read to the end of the article, someone is building a 28,000sq ft house. i'm all for capitalism but that's really obscene but who wouldn't want to have david geffen(he must have some interesting parties, amazing he's managed to fly under the radar all these years) and a hedgefunder as a neighbor. there was a time you needed class and breeding to live out in the haaaaaamptons. now just money, and it doesn't make any difference HOW you made that money or who you exploited.

Class is a quality that you either have or you don't. It is not something that can be easily acquired. Breeding on the other hand I take exception with. I have worked for my money and have lived next to 'old money' fucks that were worthless pieces of feces as human beings. Breeding means nothing but if I had millions of dollars i would be on a ranch in Wyoming and not out in the Haaamptons. I would rather slit my wrists.

I'd do the same. Except I would have my ranch in New Mexico. If I was mega rich, I'd buy the property next to Howard. Then I would invite all my hillbilly relatives to stay there. "Mister Stern, can we go fishin' in your Ce-ment pond?"

I hear a young Corey Feldman & Corey Haim thought the same thing when they were invited over for franks & beans prior to shooting The Lost Boys.

Allegedly.

Ugh. One of my moms best friends got a place in the Hamptons when she was still in NYC...she dropped it after a few months, the people there were that insufferable

Billionaire Ira Rennert’s $200 Million Hamptons Mansion – One of the Largest Homes in America

Directory » Pics » United States » New York » Sagaponack

Valued at over $200 million according to tax assessments, the Fair Field Estate of industrial billionaire Ira Rennert is arguably the largest and potentially, the most expensive home in America.
Located on 63 prime waterfront acres in Sagaponack, New York, the sprawling Hampton’s Estate began construction in 1998 and was completed in 2003. Depending on the source, living space within the compound ranges from 43,031 to 100,000 sq. ft. with estimates of bedrooms varying from 21 to 29 and bathroom estimates ranging from 18 to 49. Officially, public records indicate that the estate has 43,031 sq. ft. with 21 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms.
The lavish compound includes three swimming pools, a 164-seat screening theater, two bowling alleys, two tennis courts, two squash courts, a basketball court, and so many other buildings that an on-site power plant needed to be built to supply electricity to the estate.
Estimated to have a net worth of $6.5 billion as of September 2012, Ira Rennert purportedly showcases a portion of his massive art collection worth in excess of $500 million at the estate, so security at the gated compound is obviously a very high priority.

so vile. the arrogance of some people is sickening. rennert is an obnoxious human being (he's sitting in front of howard in that infamous pic of howard with his three "daughters" beth, jane, and melissa). typical of a certain class of buffoons who have more money than god.

why couldn't the 911 bombers have targeted the haaaamptons instead of a building where people were going to work (and i say this as someone who lived on LI when the planes hit). sure, the smoke and fumes might have filled the air for a few weeks but there would have been less death and chaos if a few billionaire's houses were destroyed.

Ha. Can't imagine Larry would be so wasteful, not his style. But he does have a place on Martha's Vineyard.

Also not sure how it is in the Hamptons but in NYC the top buyers usually were Russian, but since the situation in Ukraine is unstable, now the top buyers are Chinese.

Nothing more hilarious to me than Howard talking about how he feels bad for the people of China, as if all of them are poor meanwhile the bar has been set where uber rich Chinese buyers are purchasing $20 million penthouses in Manhattan so their TODDLERS can have an apartment when they attend NYU in 15 years.
