We all know this is a great exaggerated joke. But wouldn't Sirius know the specific audience number? It would be known for things like the 2011 contract renewal and the reality his numbers bring.

I love for someone, ANYONE to actually challenge that number and find the truth

Here's the closest we'll ever come to real listener numbers.

 I loved it when this article came out. And of course no one on the show spoke a single word about this.

I will never understand why the braintrust at Sirius keeps giving the human toilet brush millions and keeps renewing his contract every time. It makes no fucking sense.

I hope they tell Wiggy to pound sand at the next renewal, especially when he's nothing but a pain in the ass that's taken all the shows off channel 101 out of spite.

If Sirius had let him go after the first contract, he'd be nothing but a footnote in history at this point. No AGT and no big bucks deal on regular radio.

Thats why he can never get any calls from anyone but the same 10-12 people, mostly wack packers.

And when they hold a contest, they never get any applicants and its 5 months between
the announcement and for the "Sound alike contest" to take place.

    :shit:

    12% of 25,000,000 is 3,000,000, no?

    3,000,000 regular listeners--seems high. :jj:

Arbitron started to track Sirius #s in 2007.

Sirius disputed that number, but I bet that even if they were right that the number wasn't that far off.

And let's not forget that was before Howard started 3 day weeks, endless AGT talk, and mailing it in.

They don't disclose whether that is 12% of the subscriptions that can actually tune in to the show or whether it's total subs. Somewhere between 10 and 11 million can actually tune in the HSS.

It's also clear that Howard has lost all of his listeners by the internet presence
Dawgs is nothing but haters and has a couple thousand members
SFN is dead and used to be much more active
The HS subreddit only has about 7k subscribers and isn't very active (the Opie and Anthony one only has a couple hundred less)
theres some private Facebook group but it probably isn't too active either
where are these millions of fans??

    2006 article
Sirius doesn't offer advertisers data on who is listening to its individual channels or shows, whereas terrestrial radio is reported by Arbitron. And regardless of how you'd rate terrestrial-radio measurement, most buyers say that for Sirius to step up its advertising rates, it needs to invest in better audience reporting.

    http://adage.com/article/media/howard-stern-s-ad-rates-sirius-slump-low-5-000/112043/

Scott Greenstein, president-entertainment and sports at Sirius, tells a different story. He said Sirius has hired a third-party research company to get audience data on "certain things our advertisers would need." He wouldn't disclose the name of the research company but said the third-party data show 58% of subscribers listen to Mr. Stern during the week.

That's 58% of a then 4.7 mil subscriber base per week. So if that flawed Arbitron only got it half right he still has under 1 million on any single show, and the % went down post merger though totals went up.

this^^^ i know there are different schools of thought here as to why Wiggy turned into a flaming faggot but the common factor in almost every reason is the cunt of doom.

How about the downward number of XM subscribers pre-merger. Early on it was close to a million, at the B-Day bash he said 400K. More window-dressed phony-history.
