If baseball and the fans are going by the A-Rod hate, half the guys on that list have to be thrown out. :snicker:

But Trammell and Smith are easily in for me.

Not too long ago there was a Jeter basically = Trammell without the hype thread somewhere.

The baseball HOF is a joke in many ways because they still have dinosaur, idiot sportswriters who actually give weight to stats like wins. Bunch of fucking idiots.

There are guys in the HOF who are career .260 hitters. It is a bit crazy.

half these guys were known steroid users....

i'd like to see mussina get in, but it probably won't happen. great consistency over a long period + duels against pedro

guys like sheffield are unlikely cause they played on so many teams, he never established an identity anywhere...

    I vote for...

Bonds, Clemens, Griffey, McGwire, Piazza, and Sosa

But of that group, only Griffey is getting in alongside some watered down talent.

mcgriff gets screwed from playing in a pitcher friendly era...he used to lead the league in hr's with 30-40....same with andre dawson, he was like the best power hitter in the 80s, but the numbers pale in comparison to the 90s

i'm totally against players on steroids being in the hof...i'd rather have omar vizquel in the hof than arod

Sheffield and that golf-like, nutty swing of his always entertained me! The guy could hit. I read recently that he was one of the most successful hitters ever vs. Pedro Martinez. I recall always being worried (Red Sox fan) when he was at the plate, because he always managed to make something happen. Very good offensive player.

    Griffey JR./ Piazza/Lee Smith-should be in.

    Tim Raines/Trammel are close.

    Steroid Crew-no soup for you.

Never cared if they juiced or not...actually preferred it that way.

Just out of curiosity...why does Sosa's first name get auto edited out?

You need 75% of the votes to get in, Piazza received 69.9% last year. 22/23 players to receive 69% of the votes got in the following year. Piazza's overdue.

Griffey deserves it. I think Raines is an easy yes, but few ppl agree. Lee smith probably too.

As a bosox and royals fan I honestly don't understand why mattingly doesn't get more consideration. I feared him more than jester and ARod combined.

But here's a modest proposal: Kenny Lofton. It's not just the stats. It's that just like don Zimmer and don Baylor, teams he was on somehow magically appeared in the postseason almost every year. (And this is before they went to the NCAA format where 95% get in every year). We're these guys just lucky? Or was there something more than that?

If ARod and cano are so great, how come they have like 3 postseasons between them???
