A fisherman made quite the catch when he reeled in a 280-pound catfish. Dino Ferrari captured the mammoth, nearly 9-foot fish in an undisclosed spot in Italy, reports CNN. Ferrari's sponsor Sportex posted several pictures of the feat on its Facebook page. The photos show the fish, which was caught using a spinning reel rod, dwarfing the fisherman. He then struggled for 40 minutes to take it to shore where it was measured and weighed. The animal could feed quite a lot of people, but Ferrari didn't want to find out. Sportex said the fisherman decided to release his catch back into the water where another fisherman may get the chance for the once in a lifetime haul. The largest recorded catfish ever caught was a nearly 342-pound lau-lau type of catfish that was taken in the Brazilian Amazon in 2009, CNN reports.
