Hip to be square. 4th row.
Did you hold up your cigarette lighter when they played The Power of Love?
I'm from Pittsburgh... when they played "Heart of Rock N Roll, heart of rock N roll is the beatin....... in Cleveland....." the crowd booed the shit out of the place, then Huey went "PITTSBURGH PA!!!!!!" and the crowd erupted in celebration. A few people kept shouting fuck cleveland. It lasted for the next 2 songs after that.
I think their undisputed masterpiece is “Hip to be Square," a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it’s also a personal statement about the band itself.
Spoken like a true American psycho
The Heart of Rock N Roll
If This is It
Stuck with You
I Want a New Drug
People Say My Cock is Huge
I like Huey...I must be old.
So rare to hear new stuff like HLTN. I miss that kind of rock.
I suppose current pop music can't do pure rock because you can't have a driving backbeat when your mouth is the drumbox?
I saw them open for Buffett last year, they sounded great and played hits for 45 minutes.
It was a lot of fun.
