Hey, so what do think were the jokes he reported that management forced him to stop doing this week? I'm trying to remember what he said that might have been offensive. From their reaction it sounded ethnic or personal.

Huh, Fred Stoller. He was Norm's 3rd guest just a week or 2 ago. Should be interesting.

 

Artie talking about "enlightenment" is brilliant. I've never heard a less coherent and less informed argument from a less educated man in my life.

First time in a long time I have to turn off the show.

 

I think he was laughing about doing standup to an audience of retarded people with some female comedian, I can't remember her name.

yeah, i'm watching the show now.and Artie added "how can we not make fun of Mike pronouncing words" a little while after the politically correctness rant.

i did initially think it was bashing on twins about being beat by their bf....but Jew lips is probably hard to defend......lol

 

How is "Jew Lips" even offensive though? I could see if it was "Reggie Lips" but jews aren't known for anything having to do with their lips. I don't get it.

 

Because, particularly out of context as in the drop, the word itself is frequently used that way as a slur, unfortunately. Others aren't quite so loaded, although even repeatedly shouting "Buddhist!" would probably rankle people. What bugs me more is they censored "Oh, BROCK!" (which sounded like Oh Fuck) but they keep playing just the "OH!" part, which is like half a hand job.

Fred Stoller segment was excellent! Artie sounded almost happy, and both were entertaining as they reminisced, joked, and told stories. This was about as good as the show gets. (And Ritchie didn't speak!)

Unfortunately Hour 3 seems to be going back to the gaythlete stuff, but okay.

 

Have to agree, a great show aside from the goddamn PC gay athlete discussion. I am a bit ticked off about the recent censorship issues though, considering Artie isn't half as edgy as the morning shock jocks in my area. I'm guessing it's because he's a national show and associated with Stern, or are DirecTV/Ken Kohl just being pricks?

 

Glad they take so many commercial breaks. Gotta squeeze in 55 "Rogue" promos every night.

 

I just don't think they know what they have on their hands or what to do with it. Artie tries to make an entertaining show, and they keep slowing it down with sports and dictums. I happened to agree that the pissing in studio was WAY out of line, and wasn't particularly happy about these last drops OR the autism-mocking either, but they are awfully hands-on with the talent. Part of what drove off Rick I guess.

On the OTHER hand, Artie sometimes really does need reigning in (missing work, drugs, the pissing, sleeping and attacking people physically back on Stern, etc.). So I dunno.

Still kind of funny coming from a satellite company that makes much of its income from a hundred channels of porn and R-rated gorefests.

 

That's why I have respect for Nick - I'm sure he has much less $ than Artie but still wouldn't compromise his integrity for the show checks. Some great comedians never get the recognition they deserve because they won't sacrifice integrity ( Colin Quinn had his show canceled b/c it wasn't PC enough, Patrice O'Neal had countless offers he wouldn't sell out for, etc.)

 

They need to get a cohost who knows how to riff with Artie. Then shit can those worthless, flat-chested twins and Bocchetti.

 

Did I miss anything by fast forwarding through Tuaolo's segment?

 

Not much, I'm in it now. He's had this same interview witj him 6 times already.

But WTF Artie? Brouussard's getting a bad rap because he was just stating a fact?

Yes he has and it was a snoozefest the first time. I also notice that guy seems like the typical "angry gay guy"

 

Look man, I know you like Nick, but he's no Colin Quinn and I'd say it's 99.9% likely that he took the pay out. If he were filing a wrongful termination suit, it would have been reported already (look at how fast Ol' Wiggie's suit went public).

To put it in perspective, my local ESPN station fired a guy for criticizing Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit, and instead of taking the payout he badmouthed them every chance he got, and went nearly a year without a paycheck (and believe me, he was only making about $40k a year). Now he has a gig with the brand new CBS Sports affiliate where he is still ripping them a new asshole. Had he taken the buyout, he'd still be gagged right now. That takes balls, Nick sitting at home getting paychecks and doing the occasional Funny Bone Gig is understandable and I don't blame him for it, but he's not the second coming of Bill Hicks.

Id rather be forced to watch a fuckin 24/7 loop of dane cooks least funny, most hand gestured filled set while screaming his shit material at the top of his lungs than watch that no talent fucking hack bill hicks. I challenge someone to find and post one bill hicks clip that causes a belly laugh, a literal laugh out loud reaction. Not some half assed political diatribe where he just rants and raves about shit without making any valid points that any idiot can come up with and then on occassion when the audience doesnt react the way he wants (real shocker) he makes viscous comments towards them like a whiny little baby. "he was a genius taken before his prime" yeah bull-fucking-shit. Classic hes only hailed as great because hes dead syndrome
