    Interesting.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/17/w...gNews&contentID=63947309&pgtype=Homepage&_r=0

WASHINGTON — More than 50 State Department diplomats have signed an internal memo sharply critical of the Obama administration’s policy in Syria, urging the United States to carry out military strikes against the government of President Bashar al-Assad to stop its persistent violations of a cease-fire in the country’s five-year-old civil war.

The memo, a draft of which was provided to The New York Times by a State Department official, says American policy has been “overwhelmed” by the unrelenting violence in Syria. It calls for “a judicious use of stand-off and air weapons, which would undergird and drive a more focused and hard-nosed U.S.-led diplomatic process.”

I still fail to see why we involve ourselves in others civil wars.

Tired of getting mired in shit, at great cost of treasure and lives.

Because those with large interest in government arms deals and stakes in the weapons industry need wars to sell product.

Not being involved in some war or not butting into someone else's battle is bad for business. That's why we are constantly at war with someone over something. Gotta meet those yearly projections

The Iraq war and the fall of Gaddafi in Lybia is a big reason ISIS exists. So I'd agree.

People are so stupid. There's a revolution going on in the Muslim world. They're rejecting their leaders for not being extremist enough. It all started with the downfall of Iraq. And then the Egypt revolution in 2011. The U.S is just helping to destabilize the area even more.

...its like this. what we did in iraq and the middle east is like lighting an oil well on fire like sadam did during the gulf war. oil well after well burning away. the only way to put those fires out is to create an explosion over it to put out the fire. theres a guy i think his name is red adair who did that work, taught the govt how to put out the fires. so weve lit these fuckers on fire and the only way to put it out is to?

This would take the Syrian issue to another level. You think Russia is going to sit on the sidelines while we do this?

...obama is suggesting we need peace love and understanding. i saw him speak in orlando today he sounded like richard gere at the 911 thing. he compared the orlando shooting to newtown and another shooting, a church shooting or movie theater shooting but the cuck wouldnt touch comparing it to paris or san bernadino. obama must have got dropped on his head cause hes out of touch on this and wouldnt it be awful if he was playing dumb on purpose.

Assad has been fighting ISIS for years. Instead of buying ISIS a fleet of Toyota Hilux, the US should have propped up Assad.

But then we wouldn't have gotten our pipeline to Turkey.

Actually, upon reading the article, Obama is heeding the advice of the Military, and not the State department so much.

The article, and the Generals, raise a great point. Once we were to get rid of Assad, who then takes his place?

The other point to ponder is that these diplomats are considering crossing swords with Russia. I'm really not interested in going to WWIII over Syria.

    Yet another point to consider.

Assad is fighting ISIS right now in Syria. State department says we should go after Assad, which then means that we are allied with ISIS, right?

Everyone wants to get so pissed off at Obama, like it's easy decisions to make. :jj:
