Did they have to reroute the planes in and out of LaGuardia?

My aunts took me. I was about 9 yrs old. We had seats behind third base. i couldn't see them, and the music was ruined by all the screaming from the fans in the stadium. I wasn't sure what I saw until the next Ed Sullivan show.

I remember on the "Anthology" series, Paul (i believe) said they had to run their sound through the stadium PA system. Must have been rather awful.

Yeah, I'm not envious of those fans at all. The Beatles would look like ants from even the front-row seats. Still playing the Motown-esque bubblegum rock'n'roll with the gay headbobs and "oooh"s. I'll pass.

They all said they could never even hear themselves with all those screaming fans. It's why when they got to Japan and got a quiet audience for once, they realized how bad they got and exiled themselves to the studio.

To me, couple good tracks early on, but the real legacy starts at Revolver (and sometimes Rubber Soul).

I think there are a number of interesting tracks on the "Help!" soundtrack as well, certainly indicative of where things were going.

Hard to believe they produced everything from "Help!" through "Abbey Road" in just 4 1/2 years.

Found this on Google, interesting $5 plus tax, price seems right.

But from the photo on the ticket it doesn't even look like them.

I know a woman who saw them at the Ed Sulivan show. She thought the girls who screamed and cried were stupid. She wasn't going to be like them. Guess who screamed and cried when they came on? LOL!

I actually like Help more than Rubber Soul most of the time. "I Need You" is underrated. Love that guitar effect, same thing on "Yes It Is." and "I've Just Seen a Face" was the first true genre stretch for the band, it's borderline country,

the sound in the stadium was so bad than when the movie about the performance was made they just overdubbed the studio versions of many of the songs. some were so badly overdubbed that they had to speed them up or slow them down to match the videos.

I read they were paid ~$170,000 for this show.

When Paul McCartney played at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati in 2011, he was paid $2,000,000.

They used to put all the handicapped people up front and it freaked John out...he was infamous for mocking 'spastic' people.....this was a factor in them not touring anymore :crazy2:
