I still don't understand how it's historic other than the context of him broadcasting on the day the country was attacked. A lot of people were working that day and continued to work after the attack. And didn't ask their station "should we leave, should we leave" every five minutes.

Howard says because his show isn't a "news" show, they were allowed to say and "report" a lot of things others weren't allowed to do..

It's cringe worthy at the beginning with their speculations.

Howard's show might have been on the air in NY but here in Chicago the radio station cut over to the news station and simulcast the news all morning and throughout the afternoon. There was absolutely nothing historic about that show.

you're not alone in that i have never gotten it either...i got torn to shreds at sfn last year for pointing it out, but this was always to me one of his biggest points of hypocrisy...he was practically begging tom c to let him leave all the way through the show...but when he did the HTV special on 9/11 he had the balls to sit there and say something to the effect of "To me it was like how could i leave the air, i knew people were depending on me..." what revisionist history

I am sure they were all frightened at what was happening, but Howard has spun this in a way that makes him seem like he would never leave his post and his duty of keeping the public informed. He was DYING to get out of there! Robin kept reminding him that maybe they should stay on the air with information. He was not the hero back then, either. Hell, even Boots and Cabbie did more to inform us. At least Howard didn't hang up on them to take a "Bobo you're on the air" call. :hhh:
