I know it's not easy to be a 9-1-1 operator but the decision tree/logic tree of the questioning just baffles me. Is it software driven? Anyone know? Easy to armchair QB but it just sounds like they are so detached and more concerned with typing and asking stupid questions.

I used to be an "0" operator back in the day before there was 911. Back then we took the calls, got as much info as we could while at the same time patching them into the police or fire department. You have to be calm and I guess it could seem that you're detached, but two people freaking out isn't going to get anything done. It doesn't mean they don't feel something as they're taking the calls.
