The alleged robber was shot in Warren, Michigan. The bank, formerly known as Charter Bank, was recently rebranded as a Citizens Bank.
Police in Detroit are investigating after a would-be bank robber was allegedly shot by a customer.

The attempted robbery on Monday evening was stopped when the customer blasted the man at the Citizens Bank branch in Warren, Michigan.

Cash was left lying in the middle of the road outside the bank, as stunned locals talked about the man being gunned down.

“He (the alleged robber) just laid there — he collapsed,” local resident Shante Jackson, reported to CBS Detroit.

Witnesses said the man was discovered covered in blood and yelling angrily in the street, before he was taken away by police.

“They basically pulled up to a guy on the ground — bloody — and they handcuffed him,” said Gary Guyett who was driving by the bank shortly after the shooting

“I noticed his arm when they picked it up to handcuff him — the whole thing was all full of blood.”

The alleged robber’s injuries are not life-threatening, and there were no other injuries reported.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the bank customer has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

The mayor added that the man who stopped the robber “must have been a pretty good shot,” although he cautioned people not to use guns unless absolutely necessary.

An Ohio mom and her son hid in the basement as her cousin shot down a gunman who burst into their Columbus-area home on Sunday night, police said.

Investigators said Joshua K. Collins, 18, died at a nearby hospital after breaking into the house on Priestly Dr. in Reynoldsburg at around 10 p.m., The Columbus Dispatch reported.

Collins and Dezjuano Hairston fired at each other upstairs while Anna M. Katanyuta took shelter with her 9-year-old son a floor below and dialed 911, Reynoldsburg Police Lt. Ron Wright told the local newspaper.

Witnesses said another man involved with the break-in fled the scene, according to the Reynoldsburg Division of Police. The “male of unknown description” is being examined as a possible person of interest in the shooting, police said.

When officers arrived to the house on Sunday night, they found Collins and Hairston, 44, ailing from their wounds. The 35-year-old mom and her child avoided any injuries, according to cops. Hairston received treatment at the hospital and was later released.

Officials in the police department didn’t immediately respond to a request for any updates in the case early Tuesday. Investigators were probing the shooting on Monday night, WCMH-TV reported.

“We have not determined what the motivation is at this time.” Wright told the TV station. “But we do believe this particular house was targeted and did not appear to be a random act of violence.”

I'm not sure who is worse - the scumbag lawyers that take these frivolous cases, or the judges that entertain them.
