I went in to Safeway to get a few items and this hipster jackass was walking around the store with his unleashed bulldog. The dog was following him around aisle to aisle just a few steps behind him. He held up some bread for his dog to smell.

I looked up at the woman in the bakery and she just shook her head and said, "and there's nothing we can do about it." She said if they asked him to remove his dog from the store they may hurt his feelings or something.

I have a dog, and I'm a fan of dogs, but I don't want dogs walking around where I get my food.

When leaving, I did see the store manager having a serious conversation with the douchebag.

I would have thrown his stupid ass out and dealt with the repercussions later.

A person had a dog on a leash in a store by me the other day, the dog was licking all the French bread in the unsealed sleaves, I knew there was a reason I only buy bread in sealed packaging.

Should be our new national motto: America 2016: We can't do anything because of hurt feelings or something

With the exception of Petsmart, animals shouldn't be allowed anywhere, unless they are service dogs, but that definition has also been corrupted and taken advantage of.

I would never take Swifty into a store that serves or sells food. That is totally fucked up.

Property managers I work with go crazy about this, they advertise a unit as "no pets", people bring in multiple dogs and claim they are "emotional support" animals. The expense and legal fees to remove the pets isn't worth it.

Home Depot and Lowes started allowing dogs in the store a while ago.
Everyone I've seen who brings them in has been smart enough to keep them on a leash though.
I have to say that I haven't seen one dog that wasn't well behaved yet.
I'm waiting to see who's job it is to clean up when the dog shits in the lumber aisle though.

I took my German Sheppard into a small convenience store once, because there was nothing to tie him up outside the store. He was on his leash, but tried to grab a snack for himself from the shelves under the cash register.

I am utterly amazed at how people are so ignorant about how to properly walk, leash and lead a dog

I have seen them in stores also.

Its the new Merica, shit in whatever restroom you want. Take any animal anywhere as an emotional pet.

I like Safeway for the most part.

I certainly don't have allegiance to any certain store.

    What's wrong with it?

I don't like them in grocery stores period.

But, it's certainly worse when they're not on a leash.
