I've wasted a lot of time the past few days watching puppy youtubes.
Lol that's funny, they always want what the other one is eating. That's how my dogs always were. Even though they had the same exact thing in front of them whatever was in the other guys bowl must be better.
every few weeks I watch dog videos that make me cry like a little bitch
I watch a few then take my dog to mcdonalds for a small french fry. I can't help myself.
Monty gets Friendly franks and a small ice cream
Nom, nom, nom
Dogs are very much like people.....dumb!
WTF?!? That's adorable!
I wish they would outlaw the barbaric practice of docking tails.
My Dobies liked to compete for food, too. If you put two bowls of food down, they would both eat from one, then the other. Mealtime wasn't any fun otherwise.
When I was a kid my parents bred our female boxer.
I remember the lady that came to the house to dock their tails..my mom had the pups in a laundry basket and the first pup...she just cut it with a pair of scissors
Omg! After that..the rest of the puppies were making a racket..they must have known they were next
I wasn't there for the ear cropping..this was in the 80"s...I know they don't crop ears anymore
Listen to the little grunts.
I like dobies, but I think they look better with cropped ears.
Seven dogs? That house must smell lovely.
I wonder if they'd go in the opposite direction in Australia?
Unfortunately, they still do ears too.
These days they dock tails by slipping a very small rubber band around the tail. The lack of blood flow causes the tail to rot off. It's painful, unnecessary and causes undue stress to the puppy and it's mother. England has abandoned cropping and docking on the grounds of it being cruel. I wish America would adopt the same policies.
Well...no one does ears anymore. But tails, yes.
I think the whole thing is barbaric, personally.
And I remember our dog's puppies were highly stressed. My parents were like..they'll never remember..wtf???
Oh, they remember. I accidentally hit my puppy on her side with a hard-thrown tennis ball once and she wouldn't play tennis ball-fetch with me for a year. I felt so bad about the incident--and didn't blame her a bit.
What state are you in? While cropping is regulated in a handful of states, it's legal for vets to do it everywhere. I see Dobie pups especially, cropped all the time... Danes too. But Barbaric is the word.
100 years ago, when working dogs worked for a living, maybe. I can see where a bulldog might not want a tail if they were helping to move cattle. Not today. We need to change what is considered aesthetically pleasing... like intact penises.
