what was it like during the Iran Hostage Crisis?
It was like a western.
I was a kid but I remember it as very tense and scary at that time.
it seemed weird as fuck in Argo
crazy shit to think about really
Dave was in a gas line
As a fluffer?
That was before having 80 24/7 news channels, but it was always on the 3 network's news, and I think ABC had a 30minute update every night after the normal news. I remember it always started like "America Held Hostage: Day 271" or something. I was like 12, 13, 14 at the time, and we thought there was gonna be a war and we'd be getting drafted as soon as we were of age.
The drugs were pretty good, disco sucked etc...
I was a sophomore in high school when it started, and a senior when it ended.
It was scary. Nothing like that had ever happened to Americans that I could remember. The failed rescue attempt, then the release after Reagan was elected, it was all pretty confusing at the time.
Shit like that seems so common these days.
Ted Koppel, that turned into Nightline
Finisher. Those were the days
Wasn't that how Night Line got started? It was going to stay on the air until the crisis ended, but just stayed on for many more years.
That's what I thought.
Argo was scary as fuck when the Iranians storm the embassy
You still had your little yellow rat teefs
I made a BLT sandwich on whole grain.
I was in the 5th grade, and all...
