With pre-production in full-swing, a confirmed release date of December 18, 2015, has been set for Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII.

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” said Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

So the movie is coming out with only one weekend between it and Christmas Day.

Every kid on the planet is going to want Star Wars toys. How are parents supposed to get the RIGHT TOYS if they need to purchase them before the movie is even released?!

Imagine being a parent and picking up the Jar Jar Binks Playset instead of the Darth Marv Death Match Dungeon.

Why would they release the movie so close to Christmas when toys are such a big part of the sales experience?

I thought they milked the merchandising dry for these movies 15 years ago.
We are having a Star Wars marathon today actually. This is the first time I've watched them. We are an hour into Return of the Jedi.
(Sorry, but Luke's such a wuss.)

They keep making new customers when the old customers outgrow the toys.

The pent-up demand for high-end Star Wars toys is probably off the charts.

Now that I think of it, maybe I will set up a network in time for Christmas. NY and LA customers will pay ANYTHING for rare items at Christmas time.

Did your marathon start with episode 4 or episode 1?

The three prequels should be erased from cinematic history.

Last one wasn't that bad, but I agree. They were horrible acted CGI cartoons.

    What prequels?

I don't think they ever made those.

Pretty sure there are no prequels.

Just the three films that came out 30 years ago.

Like Skywalker is the greatest jedi ever , he represents everything that is good. He's probably the most beloved SW character.

I do have a bad feeling about c3p.o. in episode vii

Toys come out earlier than the film.

I remember when the first Michael Bay Transformers movie came out, the new toys had been on the market for months already. It's how a lot of the fansites knew about which characters were being featured in the film.

Disney ain't gonna miss out on Christmas.

Slightly unrelated, but Greedo shooting first pales in comparison to the dramatic "Nooooooooooooooooooooooo." inserted at the climax of Jedi.

Look at his face right as the video ends. I think the weirdo was into it. After the Ewok celebration, he probably took Luke and Leia to a hut and pounded off while they made out sibling style.

Btw, anyone ever wonder what happened to their acting abilities between Empire and Jedi? I know they weren't stellar actors to begin with, but I notice a real drop for Jedi. It's like they were having too much fun and weren't even trying anymore. Guess that's always what happens when they become filthy rich. The Ewoks get all the shit for Jedi being the lowest quality OT movie, but I think it's the poor acting and dialogue myself. There's still some pretty awesome shit in that movie, though.

Dec 18 is only 8 months away. They're going to do the rest of pre-production, all of the principal photography, all of post-production, and make all the prints in just eight months?

That's because Lucas started turning into a faggomuffin during Jedi.. and went full fag with I, II, and III.

Thank god that fucking retard didn't have one single say in this movie.

i saw a tweet where the novelization is almost finished. i imagine it will come out before the movie opens so if you dont care about spoilers, read that first and plan accordingly. or just be smart and buy all of it on the come, something will go all stupid and be hard to come by.
