Howard said this week they have a staff of over 70 people, after someone mentioned that they are now on two floors in the Sirius building.

With 70+ people on staff why can’t we get some Jackie and Billy era shows on 101?

Also, I’ve noticed on the rare old show they play that they have muted Jackie’s mic on the replay and only play Jackie’s voice when what he’s saying is vital to the conversation. And you never hear Billy. I’m assuming those 2 guys didn’t want to be on the replays?

Probably more like Howie re-imagining the show in his own image. He was funny, he was the only one who was ever funny, and every bit was his idea only

Agreed. I don’t think that Jackie or Billy could “opt-out” of the reruns at this point, after being contracted and paid to be on the show.

Otherwise, Niggerless Cage would have deleted himself from about 50% of the movies he’s appeared in.

I dont believe that they have a choice whether to be heard in the replays or not, and there is 0.0% chance that they went back and spent the time to mute jackie's mic at certain times! how could u ever make that assertion? do u remember listening live and they left out a jackie laugh or something from 30 years ago?? I would however love to hear some of the Billy days shows....those were pure classics!

Or they get money every time they get played and Howard can't let anyone else have marbles.

There are probably a dozen or so people there just to pretend to be legitimate businesses for practical joke calls.

I thought you were just commenting that most of the staff was over the age of 70. Fred, Howard and Robin are pushing close to aren’t they? The comedy feels like a 70 year old is writing it.
So is Howard’s Xmas party for all 70+1 guest go to his Xmas party? There ain’t over 140 people at that thing. And how many of those 70 are allowed to talk or make eye contact with him?

60 of those 70 are interns who get a $20 a week stipend

Supposedly there was a a labor lawsuit brought against them since they were abusing the free intern thing like crazy (which is what a lot of places do)

The interns get paid now I’m sure it’s shit money tho

You can't renegotiate your voice, you sign over your rights when you are art of the show unless they didn't put into the contract about future replays because that wasn't a thought perhaps back then. So if they mute someone's voice do they play dead air?

When Howard talks about “the tapes” is that just tapes of what was broadcast or is it multitrack recordings which would easily enable jackie’s Or Billy’s mics to be muted?

Jackie and Artie have both mentioned that they get no residuals or royalties from replays, if they don’t I’m sure Billy wouldn’t.

When Billy was part of the show, he wasn't always on every day of the week, right? They could just be pulling shows from days when he wasn't in studio.

SiriusXM fucked them selves big over that. The intern that sued filled the suit because she was injured while getting Howie his 6 AM fruit salad and she had thousands of dollars of medical bills due to the injury. SiriusXM said sucks for you but you’re on your own, you didn’t work for us so no workmen’s Comp. She retained a personal injury lawyer to get Sirius to pay her medical bills and that attorney turned it into a class action lawsuit with over 1,800 former Sirius interns joining. SiriusXM settled for $1.3 million and each of the 1,800 former interns got about $500 and the lawyers took the rest.

One thing you can say about Howard is that if he never even existed, neither would Dawgshed.
And all of us here would be in limbo.
