The new floor is Beth O's doghouse for Wiggy. He calls it his atelier.
Weren't Grillo and/or Gange unpaided interns for like 6 years?
Talk about a sweatshop.
I’m sure the tapes were multitrack because I was listening to a specific show that I specifically remember Jackie was a bigger part of. On the replay Jackie was speaking about 20% as much as he did on the original broadcast. So someone went in and muted his mic except when his commentary was necessary to the flow of the conversations. But all of the side comments and laughs and noises Jackie would make, and when he was trying to chime in over Howard and Robin, all of that was completely gone. At a couple of points you could faintly hear Jackie’s voice bleeding in over Howard’s mic in the background, but it was so faint you could barely hear it.
Grillo went like 10 years without receiving a paycheck. I think Gange got a salary with the other Howard tv guys which is they are all “around”
Under federal labor laws even volunteers are considered agents of a business entity or govt agency
Sirius’s lawyers should have tried to settle that shit
Did Grillo just live at-home with his parents? How do you survive living in New York without a paycheck for 10 years?
I've had friends who had steady jobs in NYC who had to move back because the money they made working STILL wasn't enough to survive there.
Remember when Grillo and Gange used to sub-let an apartment from Stuttering John?
Needs to be moved to politics
Gary reports to Marci.....lol
So instead of being a cheap fucker Howard Stern is just a petty fucker.
When he said a "staff over 70" he probably meant the median age of the staff. Ronnie, Robin, Scott, and Fred are getting up there. When they refer to 40 year-old Will as the "sexy young guy" you know they are getting up in age.
I can say with about 95% certainty that those recordings are not multitrack. They were probably originally done with cassettes in what was called a skimmer, then digital devices. They likely just grabbed a stereo feed of the show before it went through the seven second delay. He probably has a guy or two now who can go put these recordings into a DAW and very easily remove any unwanted lines as long as there weren’t two people talking over each other, in which case they would both be edited out. It’s a very easy process, just a little time consuming. These editors are simply following a directive of who and what needs to be scrubbed.
Howard also complained that he stopped handing out Xmas gifts to the staff because it was costing too much money and was too much trouble. So instead he threw an office Xmas party that was catered and had a free bar. What the fuck would that cost for 140 people (70 staff plus spouses, less Ronnie the Limo Driver)? Even if it was $200 per person -- which is outrageous and insane -- it'd only be $28K. Bear in mind that Howard makes $300,000 per day ($1.5 million per week).
If they served Dop Shelf Ligger, then it might be a $35,000 party, but still. If I was making anywhere near a mil a week, I'd give everybody on the staff a week's pay as a gift (and cover taxes), plus I'd give them a nice $1000-ish gift (like an engraved iPad), plus a $50,000 party. And I'd hire somebody else to take care of all the details so I wouldn't even worry about it. That'd be well under $500,000... which again, is not even two day's pay for this cheap fuckwad.
This guy calculating and spending Howard's money.
Then that’s exactly what happened, because sometimes Jackie is silent but if Jackie was talking over Robin it was a critical part of a conversation then his voice is still there.
They definitely chop up the old stuff to cut out most references to Allison and other things that Stern does not want dig up. Why not cut out Jackie, Billy, Artie, Stuttering John, etc?
Grillo left the show in 1997. New York was much more affordable back then I remember high end manhattan apartments costing around $1k per month rent
Grillo, Cabbie and a couple other Stern flunkies also lived in Brooklyn before it became trendy and gentrified so it was it was dirt cheap
And they had to vacuum the carpets for weeks because SJ pissed and left toe nail clippings
