Stern's cleaned up the show a lot lately. He wants bigger brand advertisers but they all shy away. He's dropping Starbucks mentions so the other advertisers think Starbucks is using him. Maybe he gets another larger brand to inquire and they can reel them in.

Howard just spins half-truths, no he's not getting paid by Shhhtarbucks, he's getting paid by the ad agency that handles Starbucks radio advertising.

I believe the truth is that Starbucks is an advertiser. To advertise on the stern show costs something like 2000 dollars. To have him bring it up organically I believe costs 5000. What's 5000 for Starbucks when they have a marketing budget of 1 billion dollars? They probably figured, fuck it lets give it a shot.

That's not a bad theory / spin. There is definitely no way this isn't meant to benefit him somehow.

The fishiness factor was cranked up when the first day he mentioned "I had schtarrbuxks this morning Robin" and she goes "OH yes I had it too!". It sounded about we authentic as when a morning zoo guy is talking a mattress store and how he just got a great mattress there and then the sidekicks chime in "Oh yeah I got a mattress too".

What doesn't make sense though is why Shtarbucks would bother with a shitshow that has 7 truckers remaining as the entire audience.

One of things I don't get about Howard and the whole Starbucks thing is this. I am not much of a coffee drinker at all. However, where I am at there are tons of small gourmet coffee shops all over the place. I am guessing that in New York City it is 10 times that. With all of those choices is Starbucks really the best?

Howard went out of his way to say that he couldn't have coffee that they made in the office. Gary said they had Starbucks brand coffee in the office. Yet, Howard insisted Will or some intern go to the actual Starbucks store and pick it up each morning.

You are in New York City and is Starbucks really the best coffee you can choose from? It kind of reminds me when they would shit on Richard for ordering a Papa Johns pizza with all of the great pizza places in the city.

I think he's just breaking in those new choppers by saying "Shtarrrbucktthh" constantly. Cause he's a big homo. And proud of it.

if you guys think that this isn't some kind of brutal product placement, you must be daft. Talking about coffee on the air ad nauseum after never mentioning it once in your entire career? Seems legit.

    Suckers gotta suck.

I don't believe anything he says anymore (not that I listen to the show anymore).
I've never seen someone change their minds about things as much as Howard Stern. No wonder he needs a psychiatrist 6 days a week.
    For example:
He hates certain people, then likes them and pretends he never hated them.
he insults people for doing things, but then he does them and makes it seem like he discovered something great.
he likes certain activities, then hates them.
he takes up hobbies and talks about them, but then never mentions them again.
He truly sounds bipolar or something.

they have had some bigger advertisers in the past.

I remember Bud Light and Heineken were sponsors and Howard had to pretend that he liked beer
