Thought you guys would find this interesting. Abraham Lincoln artifacts from the night he was shot at Ford's theater on April 15, 1865.

Little background on this man who I thought was put through hell and DID NOT deserve the death he was dealt.

His first fiance passed away at 22 yrs old during their engagement, of typhoid fever. He them met a woman named Mary Owen who he dated for a long time and wanted to marry but she had to move away. He wrote a letter to her wondering if the relationship could go on, but she never responded back and obviously ended. He then became engaged and married to Mary Todd. One of his sons, Edward, died of Pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 3. Another son, William, died of typhoid fever at the age of 11 yrs old. Another son died at the age of 18 of tuberculosis. Slavery, The Civil War, etc. The man was put through hell and definitely looked it, in the end.

Is this related to that 91yr olds collection the FBI raided?

Just because he acted gay by freeing the slaves doesn't make him gay. I like planting a vegetable garden, but that doesn't make me gay.

He was freeing them and sending them back to Africa and the Carribean islands that they came from, until Booth killed him.

It's a long time ago but you'd think they could have preserved the hat better. Guess they didn't know about air and light being a huge destroyer of stuff then.

And he would have prevented the north from being so vindictive and draconian. Booth is one of the worst men in our history.

I'm going to be very disappointed if there is no punch line to this question.

I've seen that chair many times. It's at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Henry Ford was a big time collector of historical artifacts. He collected buildings too. The property has the indoor museum as well as Greenfield Village which is his collection of historical buildings. Other cool things in the museum are the limo Kennedy was shot in, and the bus Rosa Parks rode into history books. The buildings are cool too. He rebuilt Thomas Edison's lab to original spec. He moved the Wright Brothers' house and bicycle shop to the village as well. The place is unlike any I've ever seen. It rivals the Smithsonian in many ways. There are some exhibits there that Ford got by outbidding the Smithsonian. It's almost worth visiting Detroit just to go through this place.
