    correction from Wiki

It has been estimated that there are only 50 to 100 original copies of Action Comics #1 still in existence, and a smaller number of such exceptional quality as to be at the very high end of collectibility

The guy on the ebay site says this comic was bought and immediately put in a cedar chest at high elevation in WV and just left there. What are the odds?

It's gorgeous, but what would you do with it? Would you even be able to turn the pages without damaging it? I hope a museum, maybe something like the Smithsonian, buys it so it will be cared for and displayed in a way that won't hurt it.

the last thing i would think anyone would do is try to open it..

would think you would pony up the money and get a UV protected case for it to display
    and show off..

They do display a good many of the pages on ebay, so somebody has opened it. You ought to take a look--the colors are remarkably bright and beautiful.

Howard should buy this instead of giving the Moose all that money to buy bags and shoes. It's not going down in value. The funny thing is if you buy it you can never take it out of it's container. Any exposure to oxygen or touching it with surgical gloves will cause it to deteriorate further.

Can't you use tweezers to turn the pages? I thought I heard that a long time ago.

in 1970 I had this comic in my hands and all I needed was $70 to buy it. at 10 years old $70 might as well have been a million dollars to me.
