This is really getting to be racial fatigue. It is another case of the dead person not complying with the officer's commands. They don't know if it's a fake gun or what.

Don't see how this is a "murder" case.
    Wrongful death? Sure
And your right, this citizen injunction or whatever is bad news

There were no "commands". You did see the video, right?
I know you like to take the cops side, and I agree, they are usually in the right. But this particular case is just messed up police work. They roared in, jumped out the car, and shot a child. Period

The kid had a gun in play ground and was waving it around like it was real. I dont want rogue cops gunning down people but what were they supposed to do? Did you see the gun in question?

Cops are NOT there to wipe noses and pat their bottom. They are there to enforce laws, period. Interaction with police that doesnt start with yes sir, no sir will always go badly.

If they manage to keep their jobs they need to be sent back to school to learn some tactics. If that was somebody with a real gun looking to kill some cops they would have both been shot before they even got out of the car. Driving up like that was dangerous and stupid.

So you actually think this was handled properly?
There was no chance for a "yes sir, no sir". The cop just opened fire.
AFTER the 911 operator was told the gun was probably fake.
defending bad police work is as bad as "reggies" defending their shitty behavior

Properly? No obviously. The kid shouldn't have been killed based on the facts as we know them now.

Probable and realistic outcome? Yes. You wave a realistic looking gun in a play ground and it is going to go badly.

Agreed, This is buggered from the get go, but allowing these knuckleheads to stand in the way of "justice" is the problem

Waving it around shouting in a play ground? Good luck with that.

The "activists" here have made a lawful request. It deserves to be heard. It probably won't go anywhere because it violates other State laws that require all murder cases to go before a grand jury. Much better than rioting in the streets. If your kid had been killed wouldn't you want to exhaust every avenue to insure justice is done?

Out-of-control reggies vs. out-of-control cops ... do you personally have a dog in this hunt? I don't.

A child that was 5'7" 195 pounds with a fake gun that looked very real. The only issue I have with any of it is that the driver pulled so close. Now typically on a gun run when you pull up the suspect runs instead of reaching for the gun so I get it. Also it's possible they didn't see him until it was too late.

I wouldn't call it "messed up police work" as much as I would say "a messed up situation with an unfortunate outcome".

If the cops had put some distance between themselves and the gun suspect and the suspect fled and hurt someone then the cops would have done shoddy police work and been called cowards.

I've been on similar calls where I feel like I would have been absolutely justified in smoking the "child" (who in my case was 6ft, 200lbs). Ordered him on the ground, barely complied of course, laughed when we told him he was going to jail, said he would just get another pellet gun ect. Bright future ahead of that one.

Also he had painted the gun all black, looked extremely real.

    A 12 year old was 5'7" 195??? Holy shit. I hadn't heard this.
Still think you need to at least minimally engage an armed suspect before opening fire on him. Just how I feel about it. Otherwise it's just hunting
