haha! smart. you can come back and edit, after reading the article Jon was too lazy to paste here for a change, and still be first.
Howard Stern as an "America's Got Talent" judge. I knew he'd be funny and harsh (though a toned-down, prime-time-ready version of harsh), but I didn't expect him to be so damn sweet and genuinely supportive of contestants, both worthy and weird. Howard Stern, of all people, has brought warmth and charm to "AGT," effortlessly revitalizing a haggard franchise.
Would he have said this before Howie went pro gay?
Ironically, they love Howard for the same reason why much of his core audience has turned on him. Who wants a sweet, supportive, toned-down, warm, and charming Howard Stern?
What I find funny about this is: that isn't what people want out of Stern. He's not supposed to be warm and charming -- he's ugly, old, and frightening to look at, people want him to channel that into the bitter, angry humor he became famous for. A Howard who isn't funny while being mean is just another regular guy, albeit a hideous guy.
Err ... I was slow on the draw there, Rob0729 said what I meant earlier and more succinctly
