I got 6 months of no pills yeterday

first time in probably I'd say about 8 years

i wasn't strung out commiting crimes or anything but lets just say they were in my life and I felt I had to change.

Feeling like I should be a different person or something, but I almost feel the same.

I still get urges and still get pretty down mentally a lot of the time. Especially in my down time. Maybe get a hobby?

anybody else on here have/had a drug problem that they are currently winning? want some advice

like will my outlook on life be different at some point and possibly see a bigger picture? I am proud of myself but my peers don't really seem to care. But this is my battle and I'm sticking to it for peace of mind.

    Thanks

used to be everything, never got into oxycodone or anything like that

but I was a fan of taking suboxones, vicodin, and tramadol

love how artie would always say his subutex didn't get him high. LMAO. some of the highest moments i've ever had in my life was from that stuff. like I literally couldn't sit up in my bed I was nodding out so bad.

Congrats. I have realized I am drinking WAY too much, but when I stop, I feel so shitty, I function worse than when I feel shitty from constant drinking. Not sure how I'll ween off this. Guess I'll just suck it up and do it.

Yes. Get a bunch of them. What do you do with your time?

People who have had substance issues are not the only ones who get depressed. A lot of people have to find ways to fight through it. Getting in to doing things helps.

Congrats on quitting for 6 months! That's really hard to do as Opiate addict, I'm just assuming Opiates by the way. But the sad truth about people, especially people who are addicted to opiates, is that they generally won't stay sober unless they go into some kind of program. Have you thought about going to one? That would really help to solidify your chances of lifelong sobriety. Good luck man, stay sober!

    Now where is my vodka...

my main thing I'm trying to keep my mind focused on is the mental strength

(sappy up ahead) to know in my heart I have the mental strength is what keeps me going

if i broke this streak tomorrow I would severely be devastated emotionally

and lord knows what dark emotional state I would be in then..

Good, that's what I was going to suggest. Set some measurable goals, like # of push-ups or pull-ups you can do to help keep you motivated.

I can't relate from a substance perspective (don't even drink aside from maybe 2-3 beers a year), but know addiction (mine is to new pussy) is tough.

Keep it up. It's hard to control those urges. Just remember, like the chick who wants the dark meat in the other thread, it's not worth fucking up your life. Be strong.

When those urges happen, just jerk off. And don't keep too much cash on hand. If you don't have the cash, it's hard to make the purchases.
