I know a guy who moved his whole family into his parents 4 bedroom home... That must be embarrassing for the whole family
I live w/my Mother. After Dad died, I said this living on two-coasts just isn't going to work; I need to be at least within driving distance to you; I'll have to move, or you'll have to move. So, we share the house (what's the point in paying for 2 places, really) - I work & she goes out w/friends, ha!
I told both my kids that once you make the decision to leave, be sure it's the right one - because you're not coming back! Might sound harsh but I didn't want them to be irresponsible or think our house had a revolving door policy. If they were so down on their luck that they would lose their homes, well... I would never let my grand kids be homeless, so we'd give them a place to stay then.
If it's on a very temporary basis I can kinda get on board with it. Generally I think parents are doing their kids a disservice to let them move back home. It usually happens as a result of the kids being irresponsible, imo.
It's pretty common right now actually, couples are even moving back in with parents or inlaws to save money to have a kid.
I would hope that any woman I was married to wouldn't respect me if we needed to move in with either set of inlaws.
wtf you mean the Dow is at record highs and average Americans are still struggling to get by? But I thought the recession ended in 2009?? Thanks Obama.
I knew a guy, constantly bragged about being in upper management. Turns out his parents support his own family...wife, kids, dog and all.
Fuckin guy constantly talkin about being in "management" and being the man of he house. Dude wasn't even the senior manager in his own home. He eventually stopped his "I'm so managerial and my employees and staff" bs but still. No shame in living with your family if you're taking care of your aging parents or if you got hit with a bad run of luck. Hell, most white people just put their elderly in "out of sight out of mind retirement homes". It's sad that people dump off the greatest generation.
