Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler has demanded that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stop using the band's power ballad "Dream On" at campaign events.
    "Dream on," Donald Trump.

Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler has demanded that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stop using the band's power ballad "Dream On" at campaign events, according to a cease-and-desist letter obtained Sunday by the Associated Press.

Attorneys for Tyler sent the letter to Trump's campaign committee over the weekend, explaining that the Republican frontrunner does "not have our client's permission to use 'Dream On'" or any songs that are the property of Tyler or Aerosmith and that it "gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump's presidential bid."

Tyler, who is a registered Republican, attended the GOP contenders' first debate in August.

In a statement, Tyler's attorney Dina LaPolt said the letter was not a "political" or "personal issue with Mr. Trump," but one pertaining to permission and copyright law.

Representatives for Trump did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The request, however, wasn't the first by a prominent rock band to disassociate with Trump.

Donald Trump has been hearing quite a few "cease and desist" orders from the rock world. Neil Young, R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe and now Aerosmith's Steven Tyler have all ordered Trump to stop using their music.
Last month, R.E.M. founding member Mike Mills slammed Trump's use of the group's classic "It's the End of the World As We Know It" at a campaign event, demanding that he "cease and desist" using the song.

"Personally, I think the Orange Clown will do anything for attention. I hate giving it to him," Mills tweeted in an additional angry tirade.

"Go f--- yourselves, the lot of you — you sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men," R.E.M. lead man Michael Stipe said in a separate statement. "Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign."

In June, rocker Neil Young also called out Trump for using his "Rockin' In the Free World" hit without permission during the magnate's campaign kickoff event.

Yeah I'm sure Trump relates to Neil Young lyrics.

kinda like Paul Ryan saying he was a big fan of Rage Against The Machine.

That's too bad, I saw Donald rocking out to the song at the end of one of his speeches. He truly seemed to know the song and was playing air drums!

Trump should cycle through a different hit song at each event, and get like 1,000 cease and desists.
