It's got to kill Howard that they are starting AGT at 9pm instead of 8pm. He really doesn't want to go to sleep at 10pm. It only gives him less than 7 hours of sleep. I don't know why Howard doesn't get advance copies of show. Maybe he does and watching it when it actually airs is all a shtick. NBC might do the editing and final cut of the show close to airtime in case something comes out about the contestants. There is no chance Howard will watch Wed's show live. It's two hours and he won't stay up till 11pm even if he isn't working the next day. He will record it on his DVR and watch it when he wakes up Thursday. Running the show 9-11pm Wed makes no sense as NBC target audience is families and kids. AI always ended their show at 10pm at the latest.

I think they don't give Howard an advance copy because he;ll want to change things and exert control.

It's the same with, say, 60 minutes not showing a piece to its subject beforehand.

Or the newspaper rule that your interview subjects are forbidden from reading an article before its published.

As for American Idol, Fox only programs 8 to 10.

The fuck is the op saying? If he's a little tired, Howard will just take the next day off. If he's more than a little tired, he'll take the whole week off, and if he's super tired, he'll take the entire month of August off...

I agree, Howard would be on the phone in seconds if he got advance copies wanting changes and additions to make himself come off better.
