According to Bloomberg it went like this before, the million dollar prize is actually a 40-year long annuity. The winner can expect an annual payout of only $25,000—before taxes, that is. The winner will be offered a lump cash payment in lieu of the annuity, but this will likely be in the $300,000 range (again, before taxes). How much would that be for the large gymnastics group. I think it's a fucking rip off because they say the winner gets $1 million 50 times a night. They probably do it on other prize winning shows too. I'd like to see that challenged in court if they don't make every contestant sign a waiver.

In fairness, you know what a Mom and Pop shop NBC is. Hard to come up with that kind of cash, especially after you pay Howard and fly in the 75% of the other judges.

Nothing but a circus and a scam. Notice the kind of contestants this show attracts, not only that look at the judges :)

Wiggy loves a good old bait and switch. He did it with Sirius and now NBC. It's probably the only thing that makes his scabby, old penisgina hard and wet.

The privilege of being selected the best act by America's Judge is worth far more than any cash prize.

I recall years ago Howard complaining that Survivor sticks to the $1 million for the winner. "Robin, they should up it to at least $5 million. That's completely life transforming for most people."

It's an old subject but it is really a rip off the way they tout it.

Should actually gross it up to $1,600,000 so the folks can walk away with a million. That was Richard Hatch's defense anyway (the original Survivor)

None of these dopes are going to make any money. The first guy, Terry Fator, is the only real success story and that is because he somehow got out under the Simon Cowell/AGT contract and was able to strike his own deal with the Mirage in Vegas.
