AGT slips a little, but still higher than the days of Stern

    http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2016/07/20/tv-ratings-tuesday-july-19-2016/

Historic breakdown for episode 9 of AGT:

2008 (Hoff, Morgan, Osbourne) 2.7 rating, 8.57 million viewers
2009 (Hoff, Morgan, Osbourne) 3.4 rating, 13.57 million viewers
2010 (Mandel, Morgan, Osbourne) 2.9 rating, 10.23 million viewers
2011 (Mandel, Morgan, Osbourne) 4.1 rating, 13.71 million viewers
2012 (Mandel, Osbourne, Stern) 3.0 rating, 11.18 million viewers
2013 (Mandel, Heidi, Mel B, Stern) 2.5 rating, 10.06 million viewers
2014 (Mandel, Heidi, Mel B, Stern) 2.4 rating, 10.43 million viewers
2015 (Mandel, Heidi, Mel B, Stern) 2.1 rating, 10.33 million viewers
2016 (Mandel, Heidi, Mel B, Cowell) 2.2 rating, 10.75 million viewers

AGT dips a little from last week, but is still up in viewers from the previous 3 years with Stern, and also up in ratings. I am sure the dip came from people tuning into to the RNC convention, but as the article states the final numbers are expected to be higher this afternoon when the final numbers come in. So Cowell beats Stern...again...and with the live shows starting next week, I expect the numbers to go up higher with Cowell, as the live shows always dropped with Stern.

    episode 1 - 2.5 rating, 11.55 million viewers
    episode 2 - 2.2 rating, 10.65 million viewers
    episode 3 - 2.5 rating, 11.19 million viewers
    episode 4 - 2.3 rating, 11.48 million viewers
    episode 5 - 2.4 rating, 11.05 million viewers
    episode 6 - 2.6 rating, 12.57 million viewers
    episode 7 - 2.4 rating, 11.54 million viewers

    episode 8 - 2.3 rating, 11.44 million viewers
    episode 9 - 2.2 rating, 10.75 million viewers

Whatever the case, I think it's proving that the investment in Howard was a huge waste of money for no return. They uprooted the entire production and moved it to New York for him. That must have cost untold millions. And he changed nothing.

Howard must be so mad. In his mind I'm sure he thought the show would tank without him. Instead the ratings have gone up.

I'm figuring that 19 million dollar figure Howard was talking about was his entire compensation for the multi-yeard deal AND the cost of moving the show.

considering that he was openly campaigning for a job on one of these talent shows for years prior, I'd say that Hmus thought it was a good idea. Don't forget the Ellen DeGenerate debacle, where he felt like that was his spot....

"Why does everybody focus on Simon's fake Twitter followers, Robin, instead of zeroing in on his millions of bogus viewers?"

"Why do all the chumps focus on Cheat'n Simon's phony Twitter followers instead of zeroing in on his transparently bogus Neilsen families, who penis pump up his so-called ratings?

"Don't tell anybody, Robin, but NBC executives constantly bitch to me about the cost of making the wife stealer look half as good as me.

"Simon has no audience. I have 30 million Marianns from Brooklyn."

Howard had been actively lobbying for a reality judge spot since the early 2000's. Howard's show was the American Idol recap show for about 10 years before it became the AGT infomercial

NBC thought they were getting pre-divorce Howard. Like Seinfeld said TV execs don't know anything about talent. They live in a bubble at least ten years behind the times.

NBC just doesn't have good management:

    --The Stuttering John fiasco
--Putting the Apprentice on its Thursday night lineup cheapening a great sitcom night with reality garbage
--giving anyone connected with SNL a sitcom
--Thinking Howard Stern would appeal to Midwestern housewives and 9 year old girls

I'm surprised that Howard hasn't yet complained that Simon hogged all the best talent for his season as a judge, which is why the ratings are finally going up.
