What a rebound!!!!!! Tuesday must have just been just a bump in the road for this juggernaut. it destroyed the tougher Wednesday night competition with a repeat and an elimination show. The repeat nearly beat the 2nd most viewed show. The power of Stern!

I watched the show a little last night while on the treadmill and it was an abomination.
You could tell they all hate him and are not going to tow the line "Howard is so sweet in real life" when he is gone.
You can tell Howard does not want to be in any of the video shorts, unless Beth is in there with him or they make him look good.
But all the skits have been self depreciating humor. Something Howard doesn't do anymore, especially went alpha females are around.
That video skit with the physic MelB was probably meant for Howard. He did say he told the producers no on something he thought was too hokey for the KOAM. That skit was not funny and basically an adverstisement of Howie's candid camera show, which isn't half as funny as Impractical Jokers on TrueTV. I like how Mel B couldn't even be bothered to take her gum out for that video short.

During the whole show, Howard seemed like the old person at your Benihana table that you just try to ignore. Even Nick was taking jeers at him. And Howard constantly trying to interact with Beth in the audience is pathetic.
The show's acts are all lame and the prize is lame. There really is no chemistry between any of them. Though I do think Heidi and Mel b are good and interesting to the young.

Howard really brings nothing to the table. As the rating show. Doing the show in NY and not doing the location shots hurts it too. This is just a vehicle for him to re-brand himself mainstream. Its his penance. and it is brilliant in that way because it will work but he is going to be so innocuous, he will be irrelevant because he is not funny and anything interesting about him, he won't share. It's funny how the video shorts are all about promoting the judges not the show. Rats leaving a sinking ship.

How does he try to interact with Beth? Does the show seem to go along with it?

This! It's one of the main reasons THSS is such shit now. Howard's willingness to take jabs at himself was one of the big reasons why I became a fan in the 90s.

He really is just an insecure neurotic old queen now.

    Historic breakdown:

2008 (Hoff, Morgan, Osbourne) 2.3 rating, 9.83 million viewers (semi-finals live show #2, results show)
2009 (Hoff, Morgan, Osbourne) 2.1 rating, 10.06 million viewers (semi-finals show #2, results show)
2010 (Morgan, Osbourne, Mandel) 2.5 rating, 10.47 million viewers (semi-finals show #2, results show)
2011 (Morgan, Osbourne, Mandel) 2.6 rating, 10.65 million viewers (semi-finals show #2, results show)
2012 (Osbourne, Mandel, Stern) 1.9 rating 7.87 million viewers (semi-finals show #2, results show)
2013 (Mandel, Stern, Klum, Mel) 2.3 rating, 10.03 million viewers (semi-finals show #2, results show)
2014 (Mandel, Stern, Klum, Mel) 1.9 rating, 10.11 million viewers (semi-finals show #2, results show)

AGT continues its below 2.0 rating average with a 1.9 rating last night, continuing its average in 2014 as being the lowest rated AGT season in show history. The show lost the rating night to Big Brother once again, and Stern continues his streak of never bringing a live show about a 3.0 rating. With two weeks to go until the Finale, I think it is safe to say that 2014 will be the lowest rated AGT season in the history of the show...Stern will lose to The Hoff, Piers, Brandy, Regis, Sharon Osbourne, and Jerry Springer....as they all pulled higher ratings than Stern ever did.

I'll bet my left nut that the Heidi & Mel B. skit was a Howards idea.

Thanks Puncher, that clearly shows the power of Stern, 10.65 million viewers in Piers' last year 10.11 now, less than a 5% drop in viewership while most of these shows have lost 50% or more of their viewers. American Idol often had 25 million then and 8-9 million now.
