Just booked a flight to Germany for a trip to Germany for me and my wife. I knew the taxes on the ticket would be high but I didn't expect that they would be more than the price of the ticket. Look at this list of taxes and fees.

    [h=1]Taxes and Carrier-imposed Fees[/h] Base Fare*
    650.00

    Carrier-imposed International Surcharge*
    516.00

    U.S. Tax
    34.40

U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Fee
    5.00

    Passenger Facilities Charge
    12.00

    U.S. Custom User Fee
    5.50

    U.S. Segment Fees
    3.90

    U.S. September 11th Security Fee
    7.50

    U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Fee
    7.00

    Other Taxes/Fees
    89.30

    Total Fare
    1330.60

That is about right. I just booked 2 flights to Rome last week and they were $1,200 each. Today I am trying to book flights to South Africa which are running $2,,000 per ticket.

My only suggestion is if you travel a lot get the American Express Delta Platinum Card. It only costs $100 a year and you get a free ticket anywhere in the US each year. Plus the skymiles are a life saver, and the upgrades are amazing. If you fly a lot you can't go wrong with this deal.

One of my best friends moved to Barcelona after he got married. It's an incredible city but Spain has fallen on some hard times lately. Some areas are in real trouble there. :(

    2 nights Frankfurt
    3 nights Munich
    3 nights Berlin
1 night Bremen My favorite club from when I was stationed near there is still open and going strong. I want to go back and see if it is as great as I remember from my time spent there. A group of us would go there every Friday or Sat when we were stationed there loved it It is the only bar, nightclub party spot etc etc that I remember from my years there.
It's a Heavy metal bar with a stage

I was the GM of a car rental place, and I added a "surcharge" to the rentals that was nothing more than a way to fleece customers.
