I think this is my favorite Sacha Baron Cohen character. Staines Massive! Howard, take note, this is how funny is done.

I rented The Dictator, wasn't too bad. I think it bombed though.

I rented the Dictator too and I thought it was a piece of shit. However, I think it is because I was expecting Borat or Bruno. Maybe my expectations were too high.
I loved that movie! I should watch it again.

Me like poonanni. I have watched his HBO show over and over. Can you get the British show on Netflix?? I'd love to see it. And yes, the Ali G movie was a letdown compared to the tv show but it was still infinitely better than the Dictator.

I couldn't agree more. I love the wigger confidence he has during the interviews. It throws people off which allows him to ask ridiculous questions and people take him seriously. My favorite is the interview with Buzz

I'm scared to watch it. Ali G, the show versions, is his best.

The Dictator was awful, everyone was expecting him to do his live action skits, not some scripted movie.

I didn't know it was scripted when I first watched, so I sat through what I thought was the introduction to the movie for about 20 minutes, before I realized, it was scripted. I only finished the movie because Bruno, Borat, and Ali G are so fucking hilarious, I will sit through his one bad movie, just out of respect.

It made 112 million more than it's budget. It was 65 million to make and the box office was $177,547,352.

Borat the film was the biggest disappointment for me. The Ali G show on HBO was unbelievably funny on HBO. Any character he did on there was good.

When Borat would randomly say to people, "I like you. Do you like me?"

Or when he was touring the midwest with a local politician telling the voters that the guy was a great candidate because "He's a great leader like Stalin. He will crrrrush his opponents and anyone who gets in his way.".

if material profit is the sole barometer of what constitutes a great film then we're all in trouble.

for example, punch drunk love lost money and lucas' last star wars trilogy made millions.
