Alternatives to smoking, The teracotta pot smoker (Beef Jerky attempt)) Sunny here in Seattle so i decided to break out my smoker for the second time this season. I wanted a smoker but wasnt sure I was into it enough to buy a heavy duty real smoker and line it up next to my weber performer so i did some browsing and found the alternative. Made a Teraccotta post smoker through information i found online and it does great. I used it 10 times last season and did baby back ribs, salmon, beef ribs, and turkey breast. These can be put together for minimal $$, just need to find the pots. I am maybe $75 all in with everything including burners, grates etc. Doing some ribs today and will use the 2-2-1 method @ 225 - 240 not sure my temp reading is 100%. I am not picky about rubs etc just make whatever i have on hand. Here's some pics of the start, will post some later of the final product. I stacked it today with 2 racks of ribs.
